All persons entering the San Bernardino County Jails for the purposes of visiting an inmate are subject to a search of their person and belongings by correction staff and are subject to warrant checks and arrest.  West Valley Detention is located on Etiwanda Avenue / 4th Street, Rancho Cucamonga, CA.  All persons entering San Bernardino jails must present acceptable forms of picture identification, including all forms of government identification cards. Visitors must be 18 years or older to visit, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  Visitors are only allowed to visit inmates  they signed up t visit.

Visiting Hours are Tues through Saturday from 8:00 am until 5:30 PM. 

From Los Angeles
Take Interstate 10 Freeway East Towards San Bernardino
Take the Etiwanda Avenue Exit and go North towards the mountains
Drive ¼ mile until you reach the stop sign.  Continue through the stop sign and look on the left side of the street for a sign that says "Juvenile Detention"  Follow the road to the parking lot.  Look for the sign that says Bail and visitors.

From San Diego

Take Hwy 15 North to Interstate Highway 10

Take Hwy 10 East towards San Bernardino

Take Etiwanda Avenue Exit and go North towards the mountains 

Continue North on Etiwanda Ave until you pass the stop sign the ...  the entrance road that lead to the visiting area is on the left side of the street.  Follow the road to the parking lot (sign is posted bail and visitors)

The West Valley Detention Center is the largest booking facility in San Bernardino County  and receives arrestees from many different agencies.  Pre-trial inmates make up the majority of the population at the West Valley Detention Center.  With the exception of sentenced inmate workers and some federal inmates, the majority of the inmate population awaits for case resolution.  West Valley Detention Center houses maximum-security inmates, some awaiting capital case trials, as well as pre-trial medium-security inmates awaiting trial on lesser crimes.
